Do you have risk assessments?
We have all the risk assessments that you need from the moment your group arrive to the moment that they leave. We also have operating procedures that clearly explain how the activities run and how that helps to keep the activities safe.
Can you provide transport?
We have good links with local bus companies of Christchurch, Bournemouth and Poole and are happy to organise the transport for you.
Do you run Residential courses?
We have various residential options from static tents to luxurious log cabins for two nights up to a week long stay.
What is the shortest session we can book?
The shortest session we offer is a 1 hour 15 minute taster of climbing or archery.
What is the maximum capacity of the centre?
We can host events for up to 200 students although this does mean we have to be prescriptive about the activities on offer.
What equipment do the students need to bring with them?
A change of clothes is necessary for all activities, including footwear and towel for water activities. Any additional equipment your students may have such as a wet suit will make them more comfortable although we do have these to borrow at the Centre.
Can the teachers take part in the activity?
The teachers can take part in the activities as long as it does not affect the ratio of instructors to participants.
Do you provide catering?
For day activities we can organise catering, we use an outside company who supply an excellent service at reasonable rates. Please contact us for more info. For residential stays all catering is provided.
What happens if the weather is bad?
We can cope with quite bad weather before it causes large problems; many of the sessions can be run in all conditions. However if it is not possible to run the session you booked we will offer you an alternative whenever possible, if this is not acceptable to you or there is no alternative we will work with you to reschedule or provide a refund in full.
What staff will be running the sessions for my group?
We only use fully qualified staff and always work within ratios set by the national governing bodies, this ensures safety and quality.
Can I combine adventurous activity sessions with environmental sessions?
We are happy to offer any combination of adventurous activities and environmental sessions.
Can I use the facilities without using the staff?
We have three classrooms available for any group to hire. We can also offer our equipment to teacher-led groups as long as the teachers or person in charge has the relevant National Governing Body qualifications and First Aid certification.
How much input can I have when planning an environmental session?
You can have as much or as little input in the planning of a visit as you wish. Our field studies instructor will be very happy to work closely with you, or do all the planning for you.
